MABEL test flights

Experiment Information:

During the period December 7-11, 2010, CPL was flown to support demonstration flights of the new Multiple Altimeter Beam Experimental Lidar (MABEL). MABEL is a demonstrator instrument for the ICESat-2 mission, with primary objective of precise surface profiling. CPL data provides atmospheric truth for use in interpreting and calibrating the MABEL data. Information on MABEL and the MABEL data can be found at the MABEL web pages. The flights were conducted out of NASA-Dryden facilities in Palmdale, California.
